Somehow it too got lost. I have been trying to get another one for yrs. Found one and bid on it 14 yrs ago but the price went through the roof! Last week we found another on ebay and won. The seller was so kind she even sent me the story of how she found it.She has had her eye lids and mouth restored but still talks clearly and says 11 things and her face still moves. I am so happy.Rhonda wynnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8022622530407992227.post-20060690883909328852011-07-07T02:17:05.926-04:002011-07-07T02:17:05.926-04:00I think she was only made one year, and she was my...I think she was only made one year, and she was my last Christmas doll. I'm 55 now, and I just got her out of the attic and was looking for info on how to clean her up and replace her lips. She still talks, and the voice is a link to the past for me.
JennferJennifernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8022622530407992227.post-83011959439863437572009-07-18T20:37:02.880-04:002009-07-18T20:37:02.880-04:00My father bought me a Shrinkin Violette Doll....in...My father bought me a Shrinkin Violette Doll....in 1963...I must have been 13...and I loved her so much. I even took her to college in 1967...then married, had 2 little daughters and moved so many times I can't count. Somewhere Violette got lost. I have been devastated for years especially since my father has since passed away. He thought this doll looked like me and I was shy. On Mother's Day 2008 my middle child Kari found a Shrikin Violette Doll and bought and restored her and when I opened the big Bag I screamed and cried and laughed like a little child. Violette could talk and my husband says, she looks like you!!! I guess my daughter had heard the story so many times that she had to fix it. She probably has no idea how much I appreciated her gesture and how much I love her and my doll. My husband has been calling me Violette since that day. Just wanted to share....But I am no longer a shrinkin Violette.PattyHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05459798823959723766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8022622530407992227.post-12740166610557367192009-01-03T14:51:00.000-05:002009-01-03T14:51:00.000-05:00I had a shrinking violet doll and I loved her, til...I had a shrinking violet doll and I loved her, till her string broke, (or did I cut it off while pulled out!) And her eyelids did not move because I punctured them with a ball point pin to see what made them move when she talked. And her voice was rather dull; but I can still hear her saying: "hi, my name is shrinking violet!" "what's your's"

I'm glad you are enjoying reading my blog, too!
Love, Dana and DaisyDana and Daisyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14006886855600007312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8022622530407992227.post-38821322592370554602008-12-23T21:03:00.000-05:002008-12-23T21:03:00.000-05:00I love how you ended that.....we both are looking ...I love how you ended that.....we both are looking forward! :)Jules from "The Roost"https://www.blogger.com/profile/12753550240390593911noreply@blogger.com
